The Best Pizzerias in Europe

Neapolitan-style pizzerias

Anima di Grano Pizzeria Napoletana in Pisa, Constantino in Berlin and Ventisei Pizzeria Napoletana in Brighton all serve Neapolitan pizza. Pizzeria La Storia in Cura di Vetralla, Pizzeria La Vespa in Motril and Neapolska Pizzeria in Częstochowa also follow the style, as do Raices in Valencia, Dough Eyed in York and Les Amoureux in Nice. Bara Vedugnspizza in Stockholm and Il Rusticone in Matera bake in wood-fired ovens.

Counter and takeaway pizzerias

Doma Pizza in Nice and Dante & Gentucca in Lucca both sell mostly takeaway, the latter by the slice and as whole pies. Pizza Plain in Thessaloniki is run by one man, Kostas, and Tartufo Forneria Italiana in Chania works as self-service. Little Woodfire in Edinburgh cooks from a food truck, and Gigis Pizza Shop in Bristol sells New York-style pizza by the slice or whole.

Vegan and other styles

Plant A Pizza in Ghent and Doctor Drooly in Munich serve all-vegan menus, and Top Pizza in Ljubljana is vegetarian with many vegan options. Monellis in Hastings makes Puglian-style pizza on sourdough. Pizzeria Giardino Del Botanico in Belgrade, run by Nikola, ferments its dough for five days. Russopizza in La Louvière serves Roman-style and pinsa pizzas, and À Janela in Óbidos bakes sourdough crusts in a miniature oven.
