The Best Waterfalls in the Philippines

Visayas

Three falls lie in the Visayas, two of them on Cebu. Casaroro Falls drops about 100 feet over a cliff into a jungle river gorge in Valencia, Negros Oriental. Visitors drive up from Dumaguete, then walk down about 300 steps and cross the river three times. A guide costs about ₱250 per group. Tumalog Falls in Oslob, Cebu, is a curtain-like cascade over a mossy limestone cliff. A motorbike from the car park costs ₱50 per person. Inambakan Falls in Ginatilan has several tiers of rock and a large pool at the base.

Mindanao

Tinuy-an Falls is a wide curtain of water over a broad rock face in Bislig, Surigao del Sur. It has three tiers, lush greenery and mist. Travelers take a bus or van to Bislig, then a short tricycle or car ride. Parking is near the falls, and the walk is short. The entry fee is around 50 to 75 pesos. Lumot makes the rocks slippery, so wear shoes with good grip.

Luzon, Abra

Kaparkan Falls is a set of multi-tiered limestone terraces in Tineg, Abra. Turquoise pools spill down a forested slope. Visitors ride a rough-road military or monster truck from Bangued or Tayum, then hike downhill. The trek from the drop-off takes 15 to 30 minutes. Trucks are limited, so register early. The water is fullest in the rainy season, from August to October.
