Lorenzo’s Gem is a gelato and coffee bar in the inland market town of Eumundi, where the owners make small batches on site with hazelnuts and pistachios brought in from Italy and seat people in a small courtyard. Fifty Acres Gelato is on the beachfront at Caloundra, with sea views from the counter, and uses milk from Maleny in the hills behind the coast. Both offer samples before scooping.
