The Best Resort Beaches in the World

Public access

A resort beach has hotels behind it, but the sand itself is usually open to everyone. Grace Bay Beach on Providenciales is a public beach with several access points and parking. Seven Mile Beach in Negril is free to enter, and on Grand Cayman's Seven Mile Beach drivers use free parking at the public access points. At Diani Beach in Kenya the public way in runs between hotels, near the "I❤️Diani" sign.

Chairs and umbrellas

Shade is mostly rented. Two loungers and an umbrella cost about $20 to $25 at Grand Anse Beach in Grenada, resort chairs at West Bay Beach on Roatán are about $20, and a set at Grace Bay is about $30. At Playa Norte on Isla Mujeres the beach clubs often ask for a minimum spend instead. Eagle Beach in Aruba is an exception with free palapas, which are gone by about 8 am. Parasol sets at Aharen Beach on Tokashiki Island cost 1,200 to 3,000 yen.

Vendors and busy stretches

Vendors work the busier resort beaches. On Seven Mile Beach in Negril a firm no is enough, and on White Beach in Boracay they approach constantly. The crowds gather in predictable places: directly in front of the resorts at Grace Bay, at Station 2 on White Beach, and near the access points at Seven Mile Beach on Grand Cayman on cruise days.

Facilities

Toilets and showers are common on resort beaches. Siesta Beach in Florida has restrooms, showers, concessions and lifeguards, and Playa de la Barrosa in Chiclana de la Frontera has clean public restrooms and showers. Punta Rata at Brela charges for toilets and has free showers. Lanikai Beach on Oahu has no restrooms, shade or food.
