Boiling Lake in Dominica's Morne Trois Pitons National Park is a full day in rainforest, about 10 to 12 km return with roughly 1,000 m of ascent. The trail crosses the Valley of Desolation and ends at a flooded fumarole of grey-blue water under steam. Mud and stream crossings slow the pace to six or seven hours, and hot springs on the way allow a soak. A park pass is needed, and there is a guide checkpoint at the trailhead.
