The Best Ramen Shops in Canada
5 of the 100 venues in The World’s 100 Best Ramen Shops 2026 are in Canada. The highest placed is Akedo Showten in Langley, at number 27 in the world. Ramen Arashi in Banff (number 66) and Tonkotsu Ramen Tsukiya in Vancouver (number 71) follow.
Vancouver
Both Vancouver shops serve tonkotsu, and both seat a party only when everyone has arrived. Ramen Danbo Robson is Fukuoka-style, with a queue on Robson Street at most hours and a turnover fast enough that nobody lingers after the bowl. Tonkotsu Ramen Tsukiya is downtown, near the bike rental shops by Stanley Park, and serves thick, chewy, wavy noodles and a truffle ramen; waits there are short even at peak hours.
Langley
Akedo Showten in Langley works with chicken broth and offers it with a black, white, red or miso base. The noodles are thin and made in house. The room is small, so people on the waitlist stand outside, next to the Japanese mini market that sits beside the shop.
Banff
Ramen Arashi is on the second floor of the Sundance Mall on Banff Avenue. Its signature broth is creamy with sesame, peanut and spice, and several of the ramens are vegetarian. The queue of 30 to 60 minutes waits on wooden benches outside, and takeout utensils cost extra.
Hamilton
Mystic Ramen on King William Street in downtown Hamilton recommends reservations on busy evenings. Anime plays on a projector over the dark room, a Khao Soi coconut curry ramen sits beside the traditional bowls, and children get their own meals with colouring placemats.
