The Best Airports in the United States

Florida airports

Five airports in Florida serve Tampa, Fort Myers, West Palm Beach, Sarasota and Bradenton, and Melbourne. Tampa International has clean, modern terminals with a tram, and the Fort Myers airport, Southwest Florida International, is a single-terminal building with three concourses under expansion. Palm Beach's airport is named for President Donald J. Trump and has terminals A, B and C. Melbourne Orlando International serves Space Coast and Orlando-bound travellers from a small, quiet building.

Western airports

Western airports include Jackson Hole, inside Grand Teton National Park, and Bozeman Yellowstone, with a timber-frame terminal and fireplaces. Salt Lake City has a newly built terminal, and Portland's renovated building uses exposed wood, live plants and skylights. Long Beach Airport keeps 1930s Art Deco terminal buildings, and Santa Barbara has a Spanish Colonial Revival terminal near the ocean. Palm Springs, in the Coachella Valley, is mostly open-air, while Albuquerque and Tucson sit in desert settings. San Francisco International is a large international hub serving the Bay Area.

Midwest, South and East airports

Several airports serve large Midwestern and Eastern cities. Minneapolis–Saint Paul is a multi-terminal hub with Delta as its main carrier, and Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County is a large hub with long distances between gates. Indianapolis has two concourses around an open central court, and Grand Rapids' Gerald R. Ford has a clean, modern terminal. Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson is a large Delta hub with a plane train linking its concourses. Greenville-Spartanburg, Charleston, Raleigh-Durham and Providence's T.F. Green are smaller regional airports, and Houston's William P. Hobby is a Southwest hub on the city's southeast side.
